The three members of the Family Support Consortium – Heights Parent Center, Family Connections (formerly Shaker Family Center), and the City of Lakewood Family Room – offer a variety of programs and activities for Fathers and Families with young children, birth through age 8. Fathers and Father-figures are welcome at all programs, but some programs are especially popular with Dads:
Drop-In Sessions – Each center has multiple sessions each week, where parents and caregivers can talk with one another, while their children make new friends and learn through play. *
Family Literacy Playrooms – Each center offers multiple sessions each week where parents and caregivers can play with their young children in environments specifically designed to foster the development of important literacy and school readiness skills.
- Wednesdays, 6:15-7:45, “Learn Through Play” at the Lakewood Family Room
- Saturdays, 10-12, “Play & Learn Station” at the Shaker Heights Public Library
- Saturdays, 10-1, “Little Heights” at the Cleveland Heights Main Library
Support Groups – Each center offers support groups to meet the needs of particular families in their communities.
Parenting Education – Each center offers individual parenting classes or series periodically throughout the year.
Family Fun Activities – Each center offers various fun events throughout the year.
